Six Word Photo Story Publication is Thriving!

I started my own publication on Medium in September, called “Six Word Photo Story Publication.” The concept is “Can you tell a story in six words inspired by a photo taken by yourself?” Each month features a new writing prompt that challenges writers to take photos or dig into their photo archives to match the prompt.
September was “Clouds,” October was “Scary,” November was “The Power of 3,” and December was “Snow & White.”

I receive on average 150 submissions per month and readers and writers have expressed that they’re obsessed, addicted to the stories, love how the writing style sparks joy, creativity, and fun, and enjoy the community connection between the readers and writers established on the publication.
This month the publication had over 20K views over the last 30 days!

As I run the publication on a voluntary basis and the time I spend on it is outside of my regular day job, parenting, my usual life, and fitness routine, I’ve been overwhelmed! I’ve scheduled a winter break from the publication from December 20 to January 3, 2022, for much-needed personal downtime, and to take time off from running the publication.
My publication will re-open for new submissions on January 4, 2022, and writers if you’re interested in joining the publication in the new year.
Here’s the December “Snow & White” Challenge Conclusion–it will give you a glimpse of how the Six Word Photo Story Publication works. It includes info on how to apply to be a writer in the Submission Guidelines. Happy holidays and see you in 2022!
